The KSET Life Sciences Exam consists of two papers:

1. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the KSET exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

🔹 Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Master’s degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Com., etc.) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).

🔹 Final Year Candidates: Final-year postgraduate students can also apply, provided they complete their degree within the prescribed timeline.

🔹 Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for the KSET exam.

  • Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree (First or Second Semester) or candidates who appear for their Master’s Degree (Final Year) exam and candidates whose result is still awaited or whose qualifying examinations have been delayed also can apply for the KSET Exam.
  • However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the KSET, an eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof of having passed the Master’s degree or equivalent examination securing at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, OBC i.e., Cat- I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB) and PWD candidates) within two years from the date of the KSET result, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
  • Applicants who have qualified previous KSET Exam in any subject are not allowed to sit in the same subject.
  • The Ph.D. degree holders candidates whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result), shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in KSET Exam.
  • The applicants of other states except for Karnataka, belonging to OBCs (SC, ST & Other Backward Classes) categories will be treated as General Merit [GM] only. As per the reservation policy of the Karnataka Government.

KSET Age Limit

There is no upper age limit set for the KSET Exam. Candidates can apply after the age of 21.

When will the KSET 2024 exam be conducted?

Ans. KSET 2024 exam date has not been announced yet. It will be mentioned in the official notification. However, it is expected to be conducted in December 2024.

Does the KSET Assistant Professor recruit receive a salary during the probation period?

Ans. Yes, the recruits of the KSET Assistant Professor receive basic pay ranging from Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 40,000/-. The basic pay is awarded to the candidates based on the 7th pay commission. Along with the basic pay, the recruits also receive certain perks and allowances as conferred to the government service employees.

When will the KSET 2024 cut-off be announced?

Ans. Cut-offs are announced after the completion of the KSET exam on the official website.

When will the KSET 2024 results be declared?

Ans. No official date has been provided by the commission yet but the result can be expected soon after the exam. The same will be announced by the Center on their official website soon.

Can a candidate apply from a different email address if the details are incorrectly filled in for the first time?

Ans. No, only one email address and mobile number can be registered by one candidate.

How many times can I attempt KSET?

There is no limit to the number of attempts for KSET. Candidates can take the exam as many times as needed to qualify.
